I have a 2006 Charger R/T 5.7L. After installing the superchips, I noticed surges during idling. While its idling it will rev up/down/up/down etc. This gets pretty annoying, especially at night when I am sitting in a drive thru and the lights go dim then bright on each surge, making it look like I am flashing the car in front of me. It also causes problems when I am trying to park in the garage it will surge and push forward unexpectedly. I have done the update on the superchips through the pc and installed it in the car, but it didn't fix it. It never had this problem before. I have noticed a few other comments in this forum pertaining to this. Has anyone else experienced the surging? I have already submitted a problem report. Please help with this issue as soon as possible. Thank You.
P.S. I do notice the increased horsepower/torque and I think this product is well worth the money, just as long as the surging/idling issue can be fixed. Thanks again.

I have the same problem. 06 Magnum HEMI. I have submitted a ticket almost 2 weeks ago, and still nothing. There has been this same question on a couple of forums, and it seems if you have SuperChips, you will have erratic idle (and harsher MDS crossover) at least for the near future. I put the stock cal back in, and the idle is smooth as glass. I know of at least 10 people that have submitted tickets, with no answer - not even a "we are working on it".
Hopefully they come up with something, because like you I feel the power is there, but there are issues.

We are looking into it and we want a resolution also.
Part of the issue is idle. These cars {in the beginning} had idle issues from the factory which DCX changed the map sensor and flashed the computer to a new calibration. This seemed to helped but there is still an oscillation when driving at part throttle, stock.
I can review your calibration if you provide me with your serial number off the back of the tuner. I will see what I can do for you.

I sent it to Ryan on the 17th, ticket on the 12th. Don't have the number on me right now.
I figured you guys are working on it, but I imagaine idle is pretty low in the pecking order. I don;t have the newest calibration only because of all the problems I have seen with getting the SC tuner to work with them. Once all those issues are ironed out, I will get it - no point in fixing what isn't broke, yet.
Do you guys even change any idle settings? I would hope that SC doesn't just mess with the MAP sensor (or coolant sensor) to get more power like some other G3 "systems" do.

Yeah, I wish it was that easy!

Good, like I said, that's the G3 way. May work, but I would never buy it.

I installed the v1.06 and that did not fix the rough idle/surge, which I expected. I was wondering if anyone is working on this issue since I have not heard back from customer support for a few weeks now. I e-mailed the information that was requested by the dodge calibration team to them and have not received an answer from them either. Please keep me informed of any new information on this subject. Thanks.

No new word. New firmware with DB63, still surges. I think its one of those things we might always have. I just want the stock idle back, no need for a "tuned" idle ?

Any word yet? Ron? Its been over a month.....
I sent Ryan some data yesterday. I took stock data too, but that was before I realized the Flashpaq only holds one data file so I don't have it.

Hey guys...
I have a goofy idle sometimes after a flash...
I did a "battery disconnect" to fix that.
I have found: If I use the Flashpaq to flash my ECM, the cars performance is WAY better if I go and then reset the computer after the flash is verified to be set.
So, flash your car to what you want it to be, then pull the battery cable for 5 minutes... see if that helps the surging.

Hey thanks lafrad,
I did the battery disconnect like you said and the repetitive surging has stopped! It does seem to surge every once in a while, but it only does it once like the fan is kicking on, which is probably normal. I do notice that it does the repetitive surging when I have the wheel turned all the way to the right or left, but I can live with that. It was a lot worse before because it would surge over and over while creeping forward and trying to park in the garage. It no longer does that now. So, again, thanks for the info.

I'm having the same problem, on now to upgrade my software to latest to see if that help, but from the sound of it, isn't going to do any good. I'll try the battery disconnect deal. Front battery or back?
What about the fuse 11, 14, 16 trick? Any validity to this?
This is the info from charger forums, but it doesn't have anything to do with SC. Just wondering what this does, if SC mods are in:
Does your car seem too sluggish? Pull fuses #11 #14 and #16!
Get in your car...Turn the ignition to "ON"; then turn it and hold it at "START" (it will not start). Wait 5-10 seconds until you hear the chime (mine beeped 3 times). Turn the ignition back to "ON"; turn the ignition back to "START" until you hear the chimes a second time. Put the fuses back in place (DO NOT mix them up) Start your car... The Computer is now reset: go "BURN RUBBER"

Yes, but I want to know what relevance this has with the disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, and with superchips in general.
