Why does this keep happening?
Something similar to this happened to me before

I had my truck tuned to 91 performance tune and i plug my tuner in today to set the truck back to stock before i take it to get work done on it and tuner says vehicle calibration not on file and that i need to update it. Didn't make since considering i've had it on 91 performance tune for almost a year. I downloaded the newest updater and updated my tuner. Update went fine but when i plugged it into my truck it still says vehicle calibration not on file.

Please help!

Why.

Because when you go to the dealer, your vehicles computer has been updated or changed. You are no longer using the same tune you did before. We do not revert programs, we have to use the same program that is in the vehicles computer at the time of tuning. If you calibration is too new, the tuner copies it and asks you to update. If we do not have a matching program the we will save the new program and send it to a calibrator, they will write a new tune, that matchs the changes that the dealer has changed in the computer.

It is a 2006 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi engine.

I haven't taken it to a dealer. I haven't even had it to a mechanic. I was going to tune it back to stock so I could take it to a mechanic. But like I said I haven't taken it there yet

OK, weird.

Do you mind going ahead and having the truck repaired.

No I don't mind. I'm just gonna have the tranny fluid changed.

Ok trucks back with fresh tranny fluid. Tried to tune my truck just for a stroke of dumb luck. Nothings changed. Still says vehicle calibration not on file and to update tuner.

I just want to be able to tune my truck again if I decide to change it.

I'm still trying to figure out why it's doing this. Since I hadn't taken it to a dealer or any mechanics before trying to tune it back to stock.

The only thing that I've done recently was that I used seafoam to clean my intake system. It says to pour it into a vacuum line that leads into the intake so I did. I didn't have anybody to help me keep the rpms up and when I'd pour it in it would kill the truck. So I used the feature on my cortex where I can raise my rpms and that way I was able to keep the truck running. When I was done I went back to the first menu on the cortex (truck idle at normal). Shut off the truck. Unplugged tuner. Hooked vacuum line back up. A week later I'm on this forum asking for help. Anything I did there that could have caused this?

No, I can not blame you on this one, I think this is a tuning issue that we need to fix.

CASE#92754

I will get this one fixed.

I'm having the same problem. To be honest, I haven't been able to use my Cortex since late October of 2011, and the only thing I can imagine that would have caused it, is updating my tuner via a satellite internet connection when I was at the oil rig site i was working on at the time. It hasn't been to the shop or the dealership in the time frame, except for the new tires I put on in February, at Fountain Tire which was well after the issue occurred. Plus I insisted they don't calibrate the speedometer, since I was going to do the with the Cortex (it can still do everything except tune the truck apparently).

I know the dodge team is currently working on the issue due to my correspondence with Robert Kurtz, but I have to admit it's frustrating to have a 300+ dollar paper weight that I haven't been able to utilize for the past 6 months. I'll put the case number here for the admin to reference. It's case #85790 . Don't get me wrong though, I am not mad or @ off at Superchips. Since I have no idea what the process is of correcting the issue to match up a calibration file to my latest uploaded files from the cortex, I simply have no right to rant and rave about it. I simply miss using the Cortex and getting the most out of my truck (also the fuel economy on performance is vastly better than stock!)

Apologies for the lengthy post..had to get it out there.

Update on my Vehicle Calibration File not found issue.

The Dodge team and Robert Kurtz have fixed the issue and I couldn't be happier with the result. It took a while, but since I was being updated throughout the process by Robert, I didn't feel like I was forgotten or abandoned. I am pretty sure the process was lengthy due to complexity with the coding and I would rather have the problem fixed right and work perfectly than have it rushed and cause bigger issues.

Thanks so much to the Dodge Team and Robert Kurtz for their perseverance and hard work in solving this issue for me.

Sincerely,

Brian

Anytime Ron, I can't wait to go out and put the truck through it's paces again. I really appreciate everyone's assistance in resolving my issue.

Please update your tuner and try it out on the truck.

We have just released DB 551

Let me know how it works.

Thanks

Ron

Haven't been on the forum in a few days, so I just noticed your post Ron, was that update pertaining to my cortex for my 2008 ram? or to the other gentleman that started this thread a while back?

I'll update regardless just because I am the curious type and my truck is already performing amazing since the tuner fix was done, so a new update is exciting.
