I have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe, 5.3, with 285/75/17 tires, 3.73 gears, & Cold Air Intake

I just bought a Diablo Sport Intune and I returned in exchange for the Cortex 2950 because the Intune has some bugs with gear options. I bought this programer to get some more power for towing and to adjust for gears and tires.

Why does the only tow tune available require 91 Octane? Why does it say not to tow with the 87 tune? Can I adjust the trans settings under the 87 Tune so that I can tow? Or am I stuck with running the stock tune and trans adjustments without any power gains?

Also, are there any adjustments I can make with the programmer so the truck doesn't want to shortshift all the time when daily driving and not towing? I like how the truck shifts when its on towhaul but I don't like the downshifting it does.

-Thanks, Charles

If you are going to run the 87 fuel, you would not be able to run the 87 octane tuning. We consider this tune as a performance mode. Towing on this mode could cause detonation or Pinging.

On the Tow mode it requires 91 or better octane due to the timing advance that the tuning adds.

Or adjustments on the transmission, is based on WOT wide open throttle. 1/2 throttle or more. We can not adjust the downshift.
