Bought a used cortex 2950 from a friend of mine for my 2008 chevy 5.3 .Got 15.9 without the cortex and got 14.7 with it. Am I doing something wrong here or did i get robbed?

Which tune were you running? MXS , 87 , perf?
What grade of fuel do you run?
What do you use the truck for?
Does it have any aftermarket add ons? Bigger tires? Air filter or exhaust upgrages?

I've tried Mxs, 87 , and was going to try the perf. but it said to run 91. Only thing at the pumps was 93 . I didn't know if that would matter so I am trying the 87 setting again. I just drive it back and forth to work ( 12 miles one way) and sometimes to town ( 15 miles one way ). Set the crews at between 55 and 60. It is a stock truck I bought from dealership. I did hook it up to my computer and update it before I started this last running on the 87 setting. I've burned about a half a tank and it looks like the mileage is going to be about the same as before. And is it normal for the rpm's to bounce around a little ? It moves from about 1500 to 1700 . Thanks.

Depending on which motor your truck has, we make some decent power on 87 fuel. (This can be found by looking at your trucks VIN, and if you get me the 8th digit from the left, I can verify) ex. 0, 3, M, or J motors
MXS does not fit everyones driving habits and conditions. I usually recommend the 87 tune for mileage gains if the MXS does not work for them.
Average this over a few tanks of fuel to see results.

87 Perf tune makes 13.1hp and 11.9ftlbs of torque
This tune would be one I would recommned to try next, or if you did not mibd, you can bump up the octane to 91 or better and use perf tune.
91 Perf = 22.3hp and 25.2ftlbs at the wheels
