I have an '09 JK Unlimited, Auto, 3.73 gears, 35s, and the Superchips flashpaq. I've been running the flashpaq for about four months and it has been great.
I live in the Denver area and just made the trip to Moab and back via I-70 over Vail Pass at ~10,000 feet in altitude. I was running 91 Octane gas and the 91 Octane tune and climb out Vail was pretty brutal (50 MPH and chugging with the pedal to the floor).
Have you guys looked closely at the performance at this altitude? What's the best tune for this altitude?
Thanks, -Charles

This is reviving an old thread, but I also live at higher altitude in Northern Utah. I have also wondered what would be the best tune for gas mileage on these hills and lower air temperatures. The only time I would change the tune would be for towing which as I understand it, If your towing it HAS to be done in the TOWING tune only. I have a 2008 stock JKU (engine, exhaust and tires) auto trans with the exception of 5.38 gears. I was thinking that the 5.38 gears wold put me more in the power range so the Mileage XS program might be the best choice for better MPG's. However it seems that some of the performance tunes are recommended for better MPG's. Your professional advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

MXS tune will shift the trans earlier than any other tune.
I would recommend to use the Perf mode for best MPG's, and power.
But, as always this is a suggestion, the real answer is in your testing, on which one is best for you. Everyones driving habits and conditions are different.
