Hello,

I have a 2010 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi with a magnaflow high performance muffler, factory dual exhausts, a K/N cold air intake system and a Cortex 3950 tuner.

I have a few questions:

1- What would be the difference between the 91 and 93 tunes?
2- What are the HP and Torque gains?
3- Can I run either of these tunes all the time, except return to stock when I return to the dealership?
4- What about when I tow my 7,500 pound travel trailer? Tow mode or can I still use the performance 91 and/or 93 mode?
5- Any other special tunes or changes recommended for my particular package?

Thanks, Rich

93 Perf Maximum Load (OEM or # lbs) Not for towing
Max HP Gain @ RPM 25 HP @ RPM 5700
Max TQ Gain @ RPM 30 TQ @ RPM 4000

91 Performance Rec. Fuel: Min. 91 Octane
Maximum Load (OEM or # lbs) Not for towing
Max HP Gain @ RPM 20 HP @ RPM 5700
Max TQ Gain @ RPM 28 TQ @ RPM 4000

Tow Rec. Fuel: Min. 91 Octane
Maximum Load (OEM or # lbs)
Max HP Gain @ RPM 20 HP @ RPM 5700
Max TQ Gain @ RPM 28 TQ @ RPM 4000

The items that you have added to the truck, do not require a specific tune.

1- So when towing the trailer I should only be in tow mode with 91 octane or above? Anything else to set in that tow mode?

2- What is OEM and # lbs mean?

3- During cold start up in 91 Perf mode, the truck idle jumps from 1400 to about 1700 rpm's for 3 or 4 times until it settles down in a few seconds.

1. tow requires 91 or better octane

2. OEM= Original Equiptment Manufacture (stock) , #lbs.= Pound feet of torque (rated at the rear wheels)

3. How cold is it where you live? Does it do this on the stock program?

I live in South Florida, so cold is not a concern. It doesn't do it on stock mode. I also saw someone elses post and did what you said to them. I put it back to stock for 100-200 miles, updated the programmer and reinstalled the 91 mode, same problem still. The rpm range is actually more like 1200 bumping up to 1400/1500 for 3-5 cycles. Thanks.

I filled up with 93 octane fuel and changed to the 93 tune with the same results. It may actually even be a little worse. Any suggestions?

I am having the calibrations department looking at your files.

Does the truck have any other modifications? Stock temp thermostat?

Everything is stock except the magnaflow muffler and K/N air filter.

I am back home now. The day I left before Christmas time the check engine light came on. I started the truck for the first time today in 2 weeks and the light is still on. Please get back to me. Thanks.
