ron i had a quick question prolly another dumb one to  what is the real difference between a cortex and a flashpaq it seems as thru they both have the same tuning and same number outputs. guess what im trying to ask is with my setup how would a cortex benifit me more then the flashpaq

2007 f150 4.6 2v romeo with K&N tune.

oh a side not, any chance of a exhaust custom tune to be relased i know that would be a tune per truck thing since there is so many custom ways of doing it. just asking?

one other stupid question well two. im been reading about the underdrive pulleys and the throttle body spacers. so far i have read about 20% say the pulleys are good, but the big thing was the tbs, everyone said they rob hp and make a good paper weight i cant say nothing good or bad about either, i just wanted to get your option of them. thanks ron.

The only benifit in your case would be that the tuner has the ability to tune your gas truck or a FordDiesel truck if you had one.

It has a broader vehicle application, fits diesel, and gas cars and trucks. Vs. yours only tunes gas cars or trucks.

As for the pulleys, they are only good IF you are wanting quicker RPMS, more at high RPMS where you achieve quicker response. No HP added

Throttle body spacers are not going to gain you anything. I have used them before.

The t-body spacers will only help a engine that has the injectors over the throttle opening (TBI) style. Some HP added

TPI type setups (injectors mounted close to the head in the intake runners) it will not help. No HP added

thanks ron, i was really wondering the difference and as long as i only keep it tuned to my truck the cortex wouldnt benifit me anymore then what i already had.

you said mine wouldnt tune a diesel, i tuned a 99 7.3 with it. maybe i understood you wrong the only thing i have came across i couldnt tune was a 00 ford focus with a 16v zetec motor i didnt firgure yall even had a tune for it so i didnt bother asking for help.

i didnt think the pulleys was all that great in a street truck, as well as the tbs. i had one myself i put on a f150 4.2 2001, all i gained was a loud air intake noise and alot less take off power. found out way really quick.

the throttle body itself had a bore of 60mm i did research and found the tbs to be a bore of 56mm, not much difference but that was its biggest bore area, still thats taking away air flow. the only good motor they work on it like what you said, i know they would work great on old carb motors where air and fuel are mixing and getting spun.

i guess they thout since they had a good rep for them working in those types that people would believe them that they would work in newer cars.

the only real big upgrade for a spacer i see is adding more add space to the manifold but one inch thick dont see that helpping either.

thanks for your input ron its nice to have someone like you on the other end, who has been there and done other stupid things. im sure ill be asking more in time to come. thanks again

No problem.

I owned a performance shop for 7 years, prior to working here at Superchips for the last 10 years.

I own 4 daily drivers and all of them are not stock a bit. ( No mechanic besides myself )Been there done that and have the trophy to prove it.
