2004 Silverado 1500

I have a 2004 Silverado that I recently started towing a camper with. A friend told me I should get a Superchip to give my truck more power when towing. I have been doing some research and see where the models for diesel trucks have a towing setting but I do not see it for the gas models. I bought the truck new and it only has 45,000 miles soI don't drive it much and I am not really worried about the gas mileage or performance tuning, I just want more power towing. I would appreciate any advice.

Which motor does the truck have? All of our Gas truck programmers have a towing tune.

On the 5.3L motor we did not make any extra power over stock on the tow tune.

91 Perf mode=18hp and 16.9ftlbs
87 perf=15.9hp and 16.2ftlbs

So what would be the benefit of choosing the tow tune? I have the "T " engine and pull a 7800 lb camper trailer.

In your case I would say their would be no benifit.

I would run the stock with options tune, and save on the octane of fuel needed.
