I am very close to purchasing a tuner and considering Superchips. I am planning on probably running a 87 tune with 89 octane. I tow my boat which is approximately 4000 lbs a few times a month during the summer. I have read that I will have to put the tow tune on every time I tow my boat? Is this true or will it just enhance the performance by doing so? The last truck I have I used a Jet performance chip so I am not used to having to switch for different situations. Thanks

It is recommended that you tune to Tow if towing/hauling over 1500 lbs. and the tow tune REQUIRES 91 or better octane.

If you bump the octane up a few notches, to 91 or better, you can run the perf mode and add 40hp and 42ftlbs of torque to the wheels when you are not towing.

Also I have read in different places about a 4 wheel drive tune. Does this mean my 4 wheel drive will be effected with a performance tune installed or am I just misunderstanding what they are talking about? Thanks, Jared

Ok thanks again. Sorry I know these are silly questions but I haven't been involved with a tuner and am not familiar with them. I will be ordering a cortex very soon!
