I just installed a new SC 1865 in my 2009 F-250 XL 4X4 with 6.8L V-10 and 4.3 gears.
My truck is stock except for the K&N drop-in air filter, Cherry Bomb muffler replacement and WTW chrome step bars. It has about 17,500 miles on it. I bought it in September of 2010 with 0 miles and it was a left over truck from the 2009 model year.
I updated the tuner programming thru the Superchips website before I tuned my truck.
I've tuned the truck with the 87 Octane tune and the knocking occurs when you accelerate hard from a stop or when passing.
Can the tuner be tweaked to avoid the knocking?
Thanks,
Kelly

Stock tires?
Where do you live?

Have you ever serviced the air filter? If you have, did you clean the MAF(mass air flow) meter?

How many miles are on the tune?

Ron

Yes, the tires are stock but I plan to upgrade to better wheels and slightly bigger tires in the coming month or so.
Live in Huntersville, NC which is about 15 miles north of Charlotte.
I have not serviced the air filter, it only has about 7,000 miles on it. The MAF has not been cleaned.
The tune has less than 100 miles on it.

Does the tuning make a good difference in the driveability of the truck?

What is the tuners serial number?

I e-mailed you the serial number yesterday.
I can tell a difference in the responsiveness and performance of the truck.
I have not driven it very hard due to the knocking/pinging because danage to the engine.
What do you think?
Thanks

I need you to update the tuner, we see where you updated prior to tuning.
We need a read of your tune to work off of.

Ron

No, it is still with the calibrators.

How long have you owned the tuner?

Ron

About 3 weeks.
Bought it new from the 4 Wheel Parts store in Plano, TX while on a business trip.

I will extend your 30 day money back guarantee from the day we get the tune finalized.

You will have 30 days from then to make your decision.

Is something wrong with the tuner programming?
How V-10 trucks are running the 1865 tuner?
Has my truck been damaged by using the tuner?
