Ron, I am still using the Easy Update program that I downloaded over two years ago that I use with my 3685 tuner. Should I update it or just keep using it? The last time I updated the tuner over a year ago, it put everything back to stock in my truck when I only wanted to turn the MDS back off and leave all of the other custom settings the same.
And if I need to upgrade to the newer version, will I need to have the programmer connectred to the computer before I install the new program, and will I need to have the stock tune in the tuner before I upgrade so it will be in your data base? Thanks

You should remove the old Easy Updater and install the new Internet Updater. You will have to re-register however, you can use your old username and password.

Always start the Internet Updater prior to plugging the tuner into your PC. Once IU is running and you have successfully logged in, you can plug in the tuner. If there are updates, they will start automatically - you'll see a circle that shows the update progress. Since it's been over a year since you've last updated, you may receive several updates to the databases in your tuner. The UI will tell you when it is safe to unplug your tuner.

No need to return your truck to stock before updating your tuner.

Good luck...

No, you will not loose any options going over to the new system.

Ron, I removed my old update program and insalled the new update last night, and it took about 45 minuites for anything to happen when I clicked the &H to register.
Today I tried to login to the new program and it still took about ten minuites. The old updater program would let me login right away.
And after the program lets me login, After I connected the tuner the USB post timed out in the tuner.
The only way that I can close the program is go to the control panel and use Windown Task Manager to end the program.
There is no &H to close it and when I go to the program in the task bar (Superchips Xpress Update) and right click on it for more options, nothing happens at all. Does this sound right? Thanks

You may have run into the same thing that happened to me a while back. The uninstaller for Easy Updater doesn't delete the Superchips directory. Uninstall the new IU and then delete the directory C:\Program Files\Superchips and all of it's files. Go ahead and reinstall the new IU.

Should be much quicker now.

Will, I did check and I had two Superchips folders, so I removed the program and deleted the folders and installed the program again. It did load much faster but when I open the program and install the Tuner, nothing happens and the USP post times out like before. I unplug the tuner from the USB port and plug it back in again and then it conects to the tuner. It says that the trans program in installed and it is safe to unplug it.
I will see how it works when it is time for an upgrade. Thanks

Overall the Superchips website and communications are very clunky and slow. Lots of patience required, but it eventually works.

Also, many weekends the updater server/website seems to go down. Dont count on this working on the weekends.
