Hey Guys,

I need help. I have a 05' Ram Daytona QC 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi. I started with 12.4 mpg, then added air intake, changed the exhaust from 1.75" pipes to 2.5" and got the Superchip. I am now down to 10.9mpg and can't really tell a difference in torque or HP. I can't even light the tires up! Any suggestions? I have it set for 91 octane and i'm using that. I lifted the speed limiter, but am just not sure whats going on.

What are the best settings and can anyone shed some light? Is the 4x4 stopping me from spinning the tires?

Thanks,
Chris

Well spinning the tires and looking for MPG, are kind of opposite things to talk about.

When you have calmed down with your driving habits then the HP setting would be your best possibility for gaining fuel economy. You will not see any gains in around town driving. Our customers usually see there gains on open road constant throttle speed driving, with the cruise on and conservative driving.

Does the truck have larger size tires? Were they recalibrated for properly? Physically measuring from the ground to the top of the tire within 1/4" increments.

Removing the speed limiter only allows you to travel above the top speed governer set by factory.

Don't feel bad I have an 05' Q/C 1500 4x4 that i have put Hooker headers, Mopar performance cold air kit, Borla cat back exhaust, a comp camshaft, and previously a jet performance chip into. Looking forward to the superchips replacement tommorow, just got the update. I have the same problem, no burnout capabilities! Only two reasons i have ever heard that leads to that, one is a factory traction control built into the truck, and the other is the fact that the horsepower numbers at 1500rpm are LOW(understatement) due to the drive by wire system. Not saying any of this is proven just my opinion on the matter. Really does a 6650lb truck need to spin the tires when it can move your house and your neighbors three fords at the same time, not really. Also my gas mileage averages out at 11.8 with a 24' enclosed loaded car trailer, or with a reciever cover matters not either way. HEMI!!!!

If you've been driving conservatively for a while I would suggest unhooking your negative battery cable for like 10 minutes then hooking it back up and then go out and drive your vehicle like you stole it.
The computer learns how you drive and if you have been driving kinda slow most of the time you have to let the PCM learn again. You may have to drive like that for a week or so to let it learn. You should be able to spin the tires after that along with the SuperChips set at 91.
That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.
