I myself, don't really have a need for any major special tunes and would see the greatest benefit from the in cab display and on the fly tuning. Saying that however, I could easily see the biggest long term benefits from special HP tuning. Doing that would keep SC in the limelight and boost them far above the competition. Doing this would keep them in the income levels that would allow them to continue to provide the basic tuning and other enhancements that we all enjoy now. Doing this may even lead to a major product share in teh market since it would alleviate the need others find in having to stack programs with other units in order to provide the best performance for their modifications.

Or I could be totally off on this.

We are always adding things to our rides to make them go faster. Sometimes we want to add something that we can't because of the Superchip. If you had a custom tune product we could have plus add whatever items we want that would be a win-win situation. If speed wasn't important we would still be walking. CUSTOM TUNE.

I really don't see the need for custom tuning. I know there are many that would like to see SC include this as an option.. My 1855 for my 6.0 powerstroke seems to be just about perfect. I know lots of guys that have custom tuning and have had problems because of it. I would like to see something in the cab to keep and eye on things. As far as switch type idea, it really can't work with a torqshift transmission because the transmission is allways learning.. I personally am very happy with the tow settings as well as the performance setting on my 1855.
Safe power is what I'm after. Anyone who has a 6.0L Powerstroke knows what I'm talking about..

The problem I see with offering custom tunes is that it will take away from product development. Your techs, engineers, and programmers are going to be busy trying to create and then troubleshoot tunes for individuals. I would say that if you begin to offer a custom tune service, have it done by a dedicated internal group with tie ins to the core Superchips organization so it doesn't take away from the good job you're already doing. But it would allow for easier sharing of information and improve the primary product.

You have a reputation that's better than any other programmer company out there. Your Customer Service is best in the business. IF you start offering custom tunes, you're going to have a lot of impatient people who want it now, are not willing to wait and don't understand that it takes time and effort to create these things. Look at how people were waiting for the Hemi Transmission tune. Do you really want to deal with that all day, every day?

Custom tunes have merit but, look at the other companies that offer it and see what people say online about them..

Just sayin......

I Would love to be able to be in a 'gas saver' mode one day, then towing my boat the next, then peppy throttle response later that afternoon at the touch of a &H. Not sure what display this will appear on in my Jeep??? the Sirius radio?

As far as 'custom tuning' goes, Keep it simple, just add some options for popular aftermarket add ons. I know the Jeeps can't handle big changes in exhaust and throttle body spacers/intakes etc. so allow the user to specify what upgrades are installed and have the tune figure itself out from there...
So make a check box type thing: I have
X throttle body spacer
O 2.5" exhaust
X <x brand> Headers

Custom tunes are not something to play with without some serious technical knowledge.

Better ramp up your customer support lines.

Custom Tuning as well but keep the Superchips templates as well.
