I am a local client out of Winter Springs FL. I have the 3805 on my CTD HO I love this thing great MPGs on Performance tune. However on Mileage tune the MPGs are not the same as performance does SC make a performance tune with less HP gains but same great MPGs.
I'm asking this because the Performance tune causes the truck to surge, blow black smoke, and idle weird and louder. The Mileage tune doesn't do any makes it feel and run like a normal truck. The mileage tune gets me 18mpg on HWY while Performance tune gets me 20-21mpg hwy.
***For the SC team is there anyway I could have a custom tune same as performance with less HP gains?***

Welcome to Superchip's Forum!!
Have we tried the tow tune? That is the middle of the road tune.
What mods does the truck have?
Does it show any diagnostic codes?
Have we made sure that the tuner is up to date?
Ron

Truck is straight piped, and KN drop in leveling kit 35s and thats it.
I updated the tuner about 6months ago.
The other tunes dont seem to have an issue. Should I try the tow mode for regular driving? Im just asking because I figured it was for in towing only and shouldnt be used under no load, will that be safe to try.
Truck is maintaned no issues, no codes no anything.

You can run any of the modes you want while not towing.
Lets have you update the tuner and reload it in the truck. Try all of the tunes again, if it still does it and then I will dig into it from there.

Ok so after doing the update and driving it for a few days I did notice a difference. The Surging is almost gone, Idling seams more like stock but louder. I have a feeling the surging could be a fueling issue. Does the SC increase the fueling PSI. If so do you know how much over stock for each tune?

We do raise rail pressure, in the thousands of PSI.
I do not have a exact number on each level.

Ron still doing this. Only option is to either sell the programmer or anything you can do. I've heard others that this is happening. I've been a die hard SC guy and would hate to have to sell it.
