I have a 1999 f-150 with 315/70 tires on it. Been running the 1715 tuner for a while now, and the tire size adjustment doesnt seem to take. I can set it anywhere and the speedo always reads 65mph when going 70mph or 5mph off. I have no clue as to why so I would like your thoughts on what it could be.

Welcome to Superchip's forum!!

Are you making any changes to the gear ratio portion also?

Are you measuring the tires from the ground to the top of the tire within 1/4" increments.

Ron,

My gears are 3.73 and I do not change that, when doing the tire size, I have tried about every size from 30" to 35" and my speedo is always slow 5mph @ 70mph. Its like everything on the tune takes except the tire size.

Plug the tuner into the truck and get me the version of software that it is running.
I will check to see if their is known issue.

The message should come up within the first 5 secs of plugging it in.

Ex. V1.03

We are up to version 3.5 as the last version that this tuner software.

I can not see where we have had this issue in the history, but it could help it.

It is a very old product, that we can not change the tuner. You could use the tuner as a trade in, we would give you a $100 off the retail. It would cost you $279. for a New flashpaq tuner 1865.

So I am pretty much SOL and the only way to fix it is to spend another $279 on top of what I had spent on this tuner....nice! If I am going to spend $279, I will spend it where the company will back the product and find out why it doesnt work, not try to sell you a "new" and "updated" version. This tuner is fine for my (*, just wished it did what it advertised it would do.

We could try to update to the newest version, but I can not be a 100% that will fix it.

With a copy of a invoice of the original purchase of the tuner it would be $30+ ship.

Without a invoice it would be $79+ship to update and try.

The older tuners are set in stone, we can not change the tuning. A newer tuner we can write files over the internet that we can fix this issue IF it is still there.
