I bought the superchip Flashpaq for my 1999 ford F-150 xlt i ve tried the options and also the mileage xs option for fuel savings but i noticed no change in gas mileage or performance in my truck if anything it was less. and i drove for a month in each option to compare. The model i bought was 1865 Flashpaq, I bought it in 2008, is there an update that is free to make it better or work for my truck i paid almost $400.00 for this superchip and i feel that something is wrong when i don't get any better gas mileage or performance after installing it. I was lead to believe this was one of the better ones out there. Can someone help me here.

hi Ron well there's about 215,000 klms on the truck and always had fully synthetic oil in it and changed every 5,000 klms with filter. It was tuned up with new plugs and that before the install of the superchip. It has a triton 5.4 engine burns no oil and transmission is tight and the fluid was changed out about a year ago. The truck is in mint shape machanically and body inside and out. There has been no modifications to the truck. Is there any updates for this 1865 flashpaq superchip that won't cost me money, I've already spent almost $400.00 on this thing thinking it would give me better performance and mileage. Can you help me Ron. thanks

Factory recommended plugs?
What grade of fuel are we running?

The plugs are better then factory there a platium plug duel tip and all new rubber boots were installed as well when the plugs were changed and were installed by a professional machanic. The fuel i am using is an 87 octane rated fuel i have also tried a few tankfulls of a 92 octane rated fuel it seemed a slight edge better but made no difference with or with out the chip install.

Nothing against your choice, but some vehicles run better on the factory plugs than the upgraded.
So you never tried the Performance tune?
You would be better to test with the perf tune and the 92 fuel in my opinion, for power and mileage. The more power you can add to the vehicle, the less effort it will take to get the same speeds. Thus less fuel used.

Thanks Doug.
A little experience goes a long way.
I'm a Chevy guy myself.

I had a 97 silverado with a 5.7 vortec changed out the factory ac delco plugs for bosch platinums and the truck was misfiring bad, bought some new cheapo ac delco's and it ran perfect again. I think the newer ignitions of vehicles aren't designed for the "fancy" plugs

Well factory plugs were in the truck at first and when it came time to install new ones I changed them to the platium plugs, the truck ran fine and has lots of power and no misses in the engine. So the plugs i have in there are working fine its the flashpaq superchip that doesn't seem to be making a difference in mileage as well as performance. Still no one has told me if there is an update for the 1865 flashpaq. IS THERE AN UPDATE....

I would recommend to try the perf tune to see how it runs. I need to have you try out all of the other levels.
The tune for this truck has been out since 1998, it has not changed in a very long time.

I will try the performance tune but now we have snow and the roads are very slippery and being winter time here, gas mileage will be down and tires spinning more so performance will be hard to feel the difference as well as gas mileage. I will let you know what it is like as time goes on . Thanks Ron
