I have to say that I'm pretty @ off at the quality of information available on your site and downloadable instruction manual for your Cortex programmer.
I purchased this device for my 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP Automatic with the intention of adjusting the shift points, shift firmness and rev limiter. Before buying it I read all the information you had on the site and downloaded the instruction manual to make sure that I could do this.
What you failed to mention anywhere on either the site or manual was the following:
1. This product does not work in conjunction with any aftermarket tuning software. 2. This product does not allow changing the shift points for variable throttle positions. If you make a change to the shift point, it changes it to all gears at any throttle position! 3. This product does not allow you to raise the rev limiter by any more than 500 RPM. I needed to raise it by 1000 RPM.
When I called Tech Support to report an error code and I started to ask about all these issues, I was treated like I was an imbecile and that I should have known this beforehand. Tell me where I went wrong guys. I'd really like to know.
Funny thing is...I went to look for the product information again this morning and the Solstice has disappeared completely from the pull down window when you use the vehicle selector. If I choose the Pontiac GTO instead, the Solstice shows up in the list of vehicles supported though.

Welcome to Superchip's Forum!
1. This product is a software tune, that can not be stacked or changed by anything else than itself. 2. Shift points are only adjustable in WOT shifts, exteneding the factory shift point. Not to mess with the part throttle shifts.
3. Over 500 RPMS, the valve train in the motor can not handle the higher revs. You will float the valves or do damage to the motor.
Sounds like you need a custom tuning able product. I would recommend a company called HPTuners.
The Cortex manual is a very general instruction, on how to set up the programming. It is not vehicle specific.

Ron Wow Ron. This feels like the phone call to Tech Support all over again. 1. My point is that you do not say any of this on either the web site or instruction manual. For those of us who try to research a product ahead of time it makes it difficult when you don't do that. 2. I can tell you that your product does NOT change only the WOT shift point. I have driven the vehicle after changing the shift points and it happens at ANY throttle position. 3. What about those of us who upgraded the springs? We would like to raise the limit higher than that. In my opinion you should disclose the fact that there is a limit to how much it can be raised. 4. I AM using HP Tuners but their solution does not offer transmission controls. That was the sole reason for paying $380 for your product on top of the $550 I already spent on HP Tuners! My point, from the first post, is that I wouldn't have bought your product if I had known all these things ahead of time. I'm not looking for suggestions on what I should do. I'm asking for your company to make a full disclosure of the limitations of its product for the customer to make a well informed decision ahead of time. I don't think that it's too much to ask.

John, I am sorry, but with 50 different vehicles that the tuner does, it would be hard to give all the information that everyone wants.
We can only be general. This is a off the shelf product that is set in stone for the options.
I do not understand #2.
It raises the WOT shift point at all throttle positions? At light throttle the mph in which the gear changes is higher than stock?
Ron

The simple fact that every vehicle is different means that the product works differently for each vehicle. To say it's "hard" to give all the information that people want is BS. It's your responsibility to do that! A Mustang isn't the same as a Solstice so why would it be the same tuning parameters? It has a different motor, etc... I said that the shift point is raised not only at WOT but at any other throttle position. If you add 500 rpm to the shift point it will shift 500 rpm higher than normal no matter what throttle position you are at. You claimed that it only affects the shift point at WOT. I'm saying that it's not true. I've done it and driven it. You can see it, hear it and feel it.

Well, you guys could call in directly and ask for the refund.
Seeing how, typing on a computer can be so informal.
