running 87 octane on mileage xs tune?

Just want to know if I can run 87 octane on the mileage xs tune that I got when I updated my tuner today.

Yes, the MXS tune is based off of 87 octane.

i personally would run the straight 87 tune for mileage.

I currently have the XS tune installed in my '07 Ram 4.7 (been in there for about 2 or 3 months). The first two tanks of 87 I ran through it it pinged extremely bad. I have been running 89 in it since and no audible ping.
My advice, turn your stereo down and roll down your windows to listen for it. If it's pinging then put the 89 in it.
