Hello:

I purchased your 3805 programmer a couple of years ago.

Anyways my mileage and power was noticable better until I updated my programmer on your site...

It seems that in "Tow" mode I am still running as "stock", I used to get 200-300 km's further when in tow mode, and again it seems my controller is not changing the settings in my truck.

I have not had any dealer computer changes, and my mileage on the truck is very very low...

Could you advise me as to what the problem could be?

I just reprogrammed my truck, and the power seems to be there, however, my mileage is no where to what it was... any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Welcome to Superchip's forum!!

What is your base mileage as of today? This is where we need to start from to diagnose.

When was your last fuel filter change?

Any new modifications to the truck? Air filter? exhaust?

Ron

The air cleaner has about 3,000 km's on it, the fuel filter has 8,000 km's on it...

My mileage "empty" was between 23-26 mpg, depending on speed, and pulling my 5th wheel was just over 15 mpg....

I just did the same trip and my trailer mileage was 11.6 mpg, and I did a tank of highway with no trailer and my empty mileage was 19.8....

The performance seems to be there, and the mileage change coincides with updating the controller...

pretty curious about this, and pretty worried about my lost economy.. my truck is a 2007 with the 5.9 litre - it only has 35 K total km's on it... the last trip with my fifth wheel was 700 km's 1 way.... again i did a tank of fuel empty... and I thought my truck was in stock mode...

At the very least can I go back to the old settings somehow??

Mileage can be lost many different ways.

tire pressure
wind resistance
quality of air
driving habits
fuel pressure
traffic
quality of fuel
and many more

I need to know what your truck makes for mileage today on the stock tuning to gauge weather your claim of tuning is warranted, with no one else talking about losses with tuning.
I can only talk about what is variable at this point.

3 years and 35000km is not alot of driving, does the truck sit for long periods of time?

The combo of having reduced power and reduced economy, we need to make sure that the truck is loosing a tremendous amount of power when removing the tuning.

I suggest that you remove the tuning for 2-3 tanks of fuel and drive it as you did before to gauge this properly.

The truck does sit for periods of time, I will return it to stock and check the mileage.

I will update with my findings.....
