That's horse crap what am I to do let this $400 programmer cost me $13000 for a new motor. Tell that someone I don't complain about something that is not there. It doesn't do it when in stock only when the programmer is used. I'm no rocket scientist but that kind of narrows down the possibilities. That is unless I have an intelligent motor that is bent on playing practical jokes on me. Please don't tell me that superchips is telling me to deal with it. It is not an injection problem but a valve problem like it is when a gas burner gets low on octane. Tell the programmers they are sadly mistaken and they need to make this right Quickly.

Ron, if your guys in the programming department are so confident in their findings then issue me a guarantee in writing that your program will not detonate my motor and if that's unacceptable buy the programmer back and I'll go elsewhere. I've been happy thus far and I hope to think that you guys will fix the problem. There are numerous complaints about the issue not just one person.

I have a buddy that has one on his truck and it blows mine away. Too bad you guys can't get your damn heads out of your @$$es and listen to your customers. Anybody that reads this should go somewhere else like Banks who will stand behind their product. Oh and Ron, you and your programmers can kiss my @$$!!!!

Hey dude look at PPE (Pacific Performance Engineering). Since SC's lack of balls to admit there's a problem or to make the problem right , I've been doing some research and PPE has a product line the beats Banks and has a stackable system. I'm giving all the key punchers time to pull their heads out or I'll have my Flashpaq on Ebay. How 'bout it Ron now you got people leaving does this prove there's a damn problem!!! You can always tell things about a person by the way they handle problems, well what are we going to see from you Ron? Git R Done Damnit!!!

If you update the tuner you will be reverted back to the last tune.

Up to tonight, I have been trying to get that noise down on my LBZ with additives, thinking it was fuel, injector issues, or "???" . Not much luck obviously, so I turned to this forum looking for solutions. Lo and behold, my question just got answered...

I have read through this topic enough to have lost my confidence in Flashpaq-to uphold its end of customer service & to build a tuner I/we can confide in. Let this topic be a lesson to any prospective Superchips buyer(s) browsing this forum. As of 3/12/08, my LBZ will be returned to stock, the tuner put in a dark place in my garage. Maybe I'll check back at some other time, maybe not. I was not all that impressed with the "improved mileage"...other than the DIC lying with 25 mpg. Ha! That was a riot!! And the transmission shifting woes....PLEASE! I shoulda never wasted my money.

1.5 thumbs down on Flashpaq :(

***UPDATE 3/27/08*** Traded Chevy 2500HD for 08 Tacoma 4.0, getting 19.8mpg avg. Anyone want a Flashpaq tuner? Make offer to captgw2@hotmail.com. Don't need Flaspaq or want it in my garage.

Now this makes me wonder???

Ron,

If other tuners can make power without all the noise, why can't Superchips?

Not sure the question was answered on what this noise is and will it harm the motor?

You mentioned something about injection or injectors. Is this the noise we hear and why are they so much noiser than the stock program.

To me this sounds more like valve noise. Not sure if SC is still looking into this or not.

Please Ron, answer this question! Will this noise that occures when programmed with your programmer, DAMAGE THE ENGINE????

Wow. Another day, no response to this. Used my truck yesterday, for the first time in a week. The "rattle" was so loud I couldn't hear the radio. I drove around a while and under load, the motor sounds normal. At idle, sound like the engine is coming apart.

I immediately returned back to stock and this morning I updated my tuner, once again. Going to wait for information from SC before I reload. May have to call SC as I am receiving no satisfaction from this forum.

Ron. Your quick one line response on Feb. 21, 2008 is unacceptable for this issue. A better explanation is in order. Please respond.

Thanks!

this will be my last post with superchips. I now have the Banks six-gun installed in my truck and I love it! absolutely no issues and the one question that i did have when installing was answered with one quick call to their support center by a very professional person who didn't treat me like an idiot for having a question. That is more than I can say for this forum. My transmission now shifts smoother than the day that I bought the truck and the power is very linear. I wish I would have just bought the banks to begin with!! I didn't throw the flashpaq away though. Since the banks doesn't change the factory programming the speedo was off because of my oversized tires so now I use the flashpaq as just a speedo recalibrator. $400 to recalibrate my speedo. Kinda expensive, but noone that I know will ever get screwed by superchips again!! Lesson learned. I really hope people will read this before they buy a flashpaq!! Don't do it!! Go with another company who will stand behind their product!! Good luck to all that are still waiting to hear from Ron. Maybe he will help you????....

Not sure it will help to understand this situation, but my 06 LBZ was updates about a month back when the better shifting change was made available. I am running the performance tune. I have noticed that when I first start the engine it sounds normal. When I go to reverse, still at idle, it get a little louder. By the time I back out the driveway and start forward it sounds about the same as the previous tune, just a little louder than stock. Most of what I hear for the first few minutes is the cooling fan. The shifting is much, much, better and solved as far as I am concerned. I am very happy right where I am currently. Not to infer anything other than there is at least one 06 LBZ that is not having the problem being discussed. No idea why the difference. BTW, I have not tried the Tow/Perf or Tow tunes.

After reading some other threads on this forum, let me add to the previous post that I use DieselKleen at about mid strength on each fill up. I read some thoughts from others that ULSD may be a contributor to louder engines, that seem to respond to additives. Also, this fuel mixture gives me about 20 MPG overall in an 06 dually, doing infrequent hard starts. Just enough to remind me of why I bought a Dmax.
