I was just curious, i have never had to update yet, but when you update a chip, does the truck have to be returned to stock before the update is put into the programmer?

I have a flashpaq 2808

You do not have to return it back to stock, but if the update adds any drivabilities to the vehicle you would still have to reload the tune.
