I have a 05 ram with hemi with s/c. when it idles programmed or not it has an erratic idle. when you come to a stop it will try to idle at 550 or so then it will fall to 450 then bump itself up to 650 up and down up and down for about 2 seconds till it finds its 500-550 idle. does anyone else have this problem? i have no codes. not sure might cause this any ideas?

I have an LX with the HEMI. It seems to be something you live with having the SC tune. Go to stock, smooth as glass.
The trucks seem to have it worse, the idle is really low. The car guys have been told there is no fix and totally ignored with dozens of tickets unanswered.

well i think it would run alot better if we could set our idle to whatever we please. that way the engine wouldnt try to idle to such a low ponit where the engine almost dies then hunts to finally level off to that low idle. i dont think sc offers a low idle limit but wouldnt that be great.

Well whats the deal. another quesiton i have is the custom tunes. first when are we going to see them? second they are going to be upgrade sepefic and how much are they? are they going to be free or do we have to contact them and tell them what we have and they send us the custom tune? or are they only going to try to sell this tuner to more poeple and forget about the people who already have it?

Ditto.... When are the custom tunes coming out? Also is there anyway you can make a update for the people who don't want the 2400 rpm 1-2 shift all the time?

I can't help you with the cam, but can say it has the potential to make things worse.
You can submit a ticket to SC for the idle, but be prepared, it will all but be ignored (I have 3 in since December with NO reply!). Make sure your tuner is up-to-date because thats the first thing they will ask.

well the problem is the fact the idle is set too low and the ecm trys to compensate so it had a erratic idle. also could be an effect of drive by wire?
i dont understand why they can spend 3 to 4 hours on an update to up the idle? is it that hard? i work on cat engines which still use obd I and its a matter of just filling in a blank with an ilde value. seems to be we should be able to do alot more since this is obdII based but thats just my theroy.

They have already messed with fuel, timing and the transmission - why would Dodge care about the idle at this point. Adjusting the idle 100 rpm's is not hard at all.
Cause they have your money. There is no pressure to give you anything more than what they already have.

well i plan on getting a cam and i'm almost positive that the idle would need to be raised about 100 rpm to handle a cam upgrade. its actually pretty lame this tuner doesnt really support upgrading into a cam which is a very basic upgrade. i'm sure those chevy guys have suport for cam upgrades.

Can anyone give me some advise on a cam upgrade, it its worth it, or is it just way to much to have to deal with? Is there any cam out there that will give you good Hp and not screw your truck up? There was a truck i saw on a race web site and it sounded awesome! "And it idled OK" Im up for anyone that can give me some advise, also what type of extra power are we talking about 30hp, 40hp, .....? Thanks for any help!

The Peanut gallery {consisting of mikehigham}.
The idle is not a simple one byte change. There are tables, strings and a couple of words associated to "raise" the idle properly. Not an easy task for the engineer to "add" this in as an option for now.

Adding cams is not too bad as far as tuning go. The bigger the cam the more time needed to tune it. Setting the spark curves, fuel ratio's and fuel trims, the annoying P0300 dtc code, deleting MDS {if equipped}, and raising idle to name a few.

Now, where did my duct tape go?
