Work around for Key Exchange Error:

Login to Superchips Easy Update.
Connect the tuner. Key Exchange error appears, close Superchips easy update. Click the Start &H, right click My Computer and select Manage then click on Device Manager (Device Manager may be different for OS’s other than XP).

With the tuner plugged in, expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and scroll down to "USB Programmer", right click it and select Properties. In the Driver tab select "Uninstall Driver."
You will be asked to reboot your machine. Reboot it and start the Easy Updater software then plug in your tuner. You will see "New Hardware found" and "Installing Drivers."
The Easy Updater should then rescan your tuner and proceed with the update. Again upon the completion of the initial update you will again receive the two Key Exchange Errors.
Not to worry, the tuner did receive the required update and you can ignore the key exchange errors.

We are currently working on the repair to the internet update program.
I will take this down once we have it ironed out.

If this does not work, please contact one of our Tech support agents for a return authorization number to return to the manufacture for a update.

Hopefully you have it fixed soon because I used a new trans tune and I hate it. I updated my tuner and now I am getting the error codes and I can't switch my tranny tune.

Hey Ron. I went ahead and tried uninstalling the update as well as removing the USB driver for the programmer. It worked out for me after reinstalling everything. I was able to update my tuner (not too sure about it) but was able to readjust my tranny tune in my truck. This is what I got after reinstalling the update. It ran through the update like it would normally but then I got the "(2)A key exchange error has occured" and then "(M4)A read tuner data error has occured", then at the bottom of the screen I got "Error updating USB programmer, unplug and try again". Then I just got those error codes right off the bat again. Not sure if it actually updated but at least I was able to get back and change my tranny tune which I'm happy about.

There may be additional updates that should be applied. Please follow the Uninstall Driver and reboot procedure I wrote and perform another update. You should do this until you get the message "tuner is up to date." It's then safe to tune your vehicle.

Folks, I believe this problem has been corrected. I attempted to update my tuner today and three new programs were downloaded. I unplugged my tuner several times and did NOT receive the Key errors.

P.S. I just saw a note from Ron that the problem was fixed 11/23/2011. Way to go!

The Fix for the Key exchange errors has been released.

If you are still having the issue; you can try to reinstall the drivers, through Computer.

Start Menu>
My Computer>
Local Disk (C:) drive>
program files (X86)>
Superchips>
Easy Update>
Drivers>
DPINSTX86> Or DPINSTX64 for 64BIT pc >

Reinstall the drivers >
Restart APP>
Login>
Plug In>
wait for the PC to tell you the update is done>
