Just got my 3865 Flashpaq and set the truck up for towing (2002 Dakota 3.9L).

A while back I had read that the Autolite 3923 spark plugs worked well with these motors. I installed them and am not really impressed. I want to go ahead and replace them so what's the best plug to run in the 3.9 when setting it up for towing and is there a brand that works better than others?

Also, what gains should I expect with the Flashpaq towing program? Mods to the truck are only a Magnaflow muffler and K&N drop in air filter.

I would use factory recommended spark plugs.

But maybe a Dodge owner on the board can help.

On the towing mode the we make about 10-12hp and 20ftlbs of torque.

Well I went back to the OEM-recommended Champions and so far so good.

Also, does the towing tune require 91 octane? The tuner doesn't mention it but I want to be sure.

Yes, the towing tune is based off of 91 or better octane.
