I'm sort of a returning customer. I bought a used 06 Duramax with Lots-O-goodies on it, including a Cortex. I was very impressed with the power the entire combination makes.

So When my wife started complaining about her new 09 Jeep lacking power compared to her beloved 94 she recently let go of, I zipped on down to my local Off Road Supply place and grabbed a Cold Air, Cat Back and a Cortex.

I have experience using the Cortex, but not the the Jeep. I turned the key until all the stuff in the truck came on (Lights, Radio, etc...), and started the program. Unfortunately, that is not the position the key should have been in and I screwed up the programmer, and it got a General Database error G-F6. On top of that it was a Sunday afternoon, so no phone support and not much activity here on the forum.

I called On Monday, spoke with a tech (Sunny, I think) had my model #, SN#, error code and he told me before I could tell him, that most likely I only turned the key to the first position, not the second one.

He had me reprogrammed and on my way quickly and it worked when I got home.

Guys/Gals, you have decided to modify your car/truck from stock. So you need to be prepared for the unexpected. Yes, these guys are selling a product they claim they proud of and I'm sure they are. And we should expect a certain level of quality. I make a sell products that go into the consumer market and it is very difficult to make every single person happy, and in fact there are those few who will never be happy. These guys at SC are not mind readers and are trying to diagnose your issue over the phone or through this forum without being there. If you want to get your issue resolved tell them everything that you have done to your ride, everything that happened leading up to the failure (be truthful), and by supplying them with as much info as possible, they will have a better shot at getting you on down the road.

I have no affiliation with this company, and was reading through this forum over the weekend to resolve my own screw up, when I saw some negative threads.

When I called in Monday morning there was no accusation that it was my fault, that they would NOT help me or threaten me with a charge. I had all my info ready to go, and I was in & out in few minutes. If you think about how many cars/trucks are out there, how many different revs of software per year, per model, per variant.....etc it is mind boggling. It is because these guys have a decent and robust product that all of the different car/truck owners have a SC product for there vehicle, that says a lot about it. I can tell you that I have had to deal with company's that have no service at all and you are left with legal action as the only recourse...... that *h.

To the guys at SC, thanks for making a good product that so many of us can buy for our "specific" vehicle. I for one know how difficult it is and how old it can get when a few out there trash you.

Scott,
Thank you for you understanding and letting us help the situation.
It would be nice if every problem were that easy, I am glad your experience with out tech support worked out so quick.

This is a subject that really needs to be in raves, but I will leave it here for a positive experience to read when people are at the point of a Rant.

Ron
