Hello,
I am enjoying my Superchips Programmer. It has every feature I wanted except one.

The ProCal device has the ability to make the factory fog lights on the Jeep JK act as Daytime Running Lights. Is there any way that the Superchips programming gurus can add this feature?

It would make my life complete. Well, at least my satisfaction with the product.

I agree with Phantasm. I really like the Superchip for my new 2010 JK Unlimited Rubi and would rather not spend the extra money for other functions and the Superchips offers so much more, it would seem this would be just one more reason to buy it. I know it is easy enough to just turn them on manually but I would forget it most of the time yet it is a great safety function for us Jeepers. I would add the steering centering for the ESP would be a nice function as well

Any new developments on this? Plausible? Unlikely? in the works?
BTW, this is really handy for running doors off, there is no lights on reminder when you turn off the ignition. Having them just go off is ideal!!!

Yes, any news? I'm waiting patiently for this also.

This would be so much better than having to re-wire. A very good idea indeed.

It would also be nice if you could turn on your stock off road lights without having to have the high beams on.

I assume you had the MOPAR kit installed by the stealership (I used my MOPAR bucks for this) and here's why it does what it does...

It is a safety issue (Fed laws and whatnot for highway lighting), and an amp-draw issue, so the off-road lights are in the high beam circuit. From the factory, you cannot run fog lamps and high beam lights at the same time. And by law, off road-lights are not for street light use, and if weather conditions (not just the super bad OEM headlights) are such that you need the fog lamps, then by default you wouldn't want to engage the off-road spot lights and create super-bright reflection back into the cab with the long-range off-road lights. Therefore, the brainiacs at the factory made it so you couldn't accidentally induce this, thinking we're all too stupid to do it right, or quickly shut it off if it is accidentally employed. The tech who did your install had to follow the factory install instructions, or else...

But off-road, I too, want maximum light output, and it would be nice to have everything I have throwing light where I'm looking and going, or need to go. You'll never get it that way from the factory. Best solution is to take it all off of the CANBUS grid and wire in your own switches/relays direct from the battery. Upgrade your headlights with cibies (or another aftermarket upgrade) and you won't even miss (or need) the factory fogs. Then use the circuit for some added off-road lighting (example - use the windshield mounted lights for long-range view; adapt the fog switch to turn on some front bumper lights aimed lower and/or outward for obstacles, or to operate some auxilliary back-up lights). Of course, without re-wiring, you still won't be able to use them all at the same time, but by eliminating the need for fogs for everyday use, you can use the circuit for a lighting option you don't need to run at the same time as the other off-road lights.

Keep in mind... anything you do to OEM circuits/lights may very well become an excuse to void your warranty.
