hey Ron, quick question. I currently use the 91 octane hp tune and the 91 octane towing tune. Recently I have noticed some pinging on acceleration, can I use an octane booster in my fuel tank? what are your reccomendations?

Thanks, chris

You can, but how much is the question. I do not know how much it will take.

I see you have a G MAF, that is not going to play well with the tuning. That brand requires custom tuning to get it to work properly with a stock truck. We do not have tuning for this. I would recommend to put the stock MAF on if you still have it.

Did it make a noticeable difference when you installed it?

Ron

Thanks Ron, I was wondering about that MAF, I will go back to stock and see what happens.
I know on start up, it runs like crap until its warmed up.I'm guessing its the MAF cause the stock one the truck ran fine when cold. I honestly dont know if it did anything or if its just the chips tuner that has given me noticable power.

The tuner is making the power, i had an 01 silverado 1500 with the 5.3 as well, i had a magnflow muffler with cats cut out and a K&N CAI, the SC tuner made a world of difference in increased power and also no pinging either

MG, so you are a converted GM guy?

I have a few GM's.

64' Belair 4door, with 91 TPI 350/700r4
88' NBS dually, with injected BBC, th400/GVO, cam, headers, and of coarse a custom tune.
Going to single turbo this summer, remote mounted.
