I also have the surging problem. I haven't tried it with the AC off yet, but it's definitely there with the AC on.
This is a very troublesome issue, because you have to keep your foot extra firm on the brake, for example pulling into the garage. The car can be on the low-RPM side of the surge, so you're creeping forward with light brake pressure. But all of a sudden - a surge - and your light brake pressure isn't sufficient anymore. I almost drove through my garage the first time I encountered it.
It's also tricky in traffic/on the road, for example, pedestrians crossing a crosswalk.
It's really unsafe.
My tuner is set to the 91 octane tune, reduced torque management, non raised shift points, auto kick shifting.

06 Magnum RT
I checked and it only seems to happen with the AC on. Here's a data dump:
Tuner version 1.04
DB: 56 071406
SN: 1191166
I am running 91 octane tune, sport transmission setting, rev limit 5800, stock speed limiter setting.
Hope this helps someone from SC get this corrected, thanks in advance.

Since Ken found my post on a different thread about this and posted there, I'll do the same for him to hopefully get some answers.
My car does the exact same thing, it's an '06 Charger R/T with the road & track with a build date of 10-05. I have basically the same tune as Ted, with the same surging idle issue.

Now does it happen without the tuning?
I know that the whole Dodge gas family has had the issue for many years stock without tuning. Although the surge at idle is worse with the tuning.
What mods does the vehicles have?
Ron

Doesn't do it w/o tuning.
Mods are Mopar CAI and Zoomers catbacks.

If you are having a drivability issue please use the following link to our calibration dept. to see what can be done with the programming.

If I remember correctly this is a Dodge problem and not a Superchip problem. I owned two 05' magnums (3.5 and 5.7)and unfortunately found out about all of the problems after I bought the second one. I do believe that there has been some serious issues concerning these cars taking off like a bat out of hell at idle. Try www.NHTSA.gov I think, and check out the complaints for your vehicle. I could be wrong on this but I don't think you are the first person with this problem.

On some early model 2005 LX's there is a software and hardware change that effects the idle.
T.S.B. Technical service bulletin 18-031-04 rev. a
Covers:
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
This bulletin addresses one or more of the following conditions:
1. Eliminates stumble and hesitation when aggressively/quickly shifting between reverse and drive following a engine start-up.
2. Rough Idle after a hot start.
3. Long crank times on hot starts.
4. Intermittent oil pressure light illumination and chime while accelerating from a stop.
5. Improved shifting at low vehicle speeds.
6. Following a cold start, the coolant gauge stays at "G" cold and does not follow the increase in coolant temperature, with a TCM DTC U110B - Lost Engine Coolant Message or U1402 - Implausible Engine Temperature Signal Received or a PGM DTC P0116 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Performance set, and the cooling fans running continuously. A key cycle would resume normal operation but the DTC will remain set.
7. Improved fuel economy for European NA1 emissions.
8. MIL illumination for DTC P0116 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Performance.
9. MIL illumination for DTC P0I39 - 02 Sensor 1/2 Slow Response.
10. MIL illumination for DTC P0159 - 02 Sensor 2/2 Slow Response.
11. MIL illumination for DTC P0197 - Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Low.

So what can they do to correct this? Will this help out my Charger with a 10-05 build date?

If you experience this stock, yes. Get it re-programmed.
If not, we need to get you a "trouble" ticket started.

Thanks for your help! I'll return it to stock and see what's going on then and I'll get back with you in a day or two.
