I sent a tech request through the website 1 week ago and have recieved no response (I was logged in and entered my tuner serial no, VIN no, etc) and then yesterday sent in separate email message by regular email and have yet to receive a response. Tried calling and got no answer so I figured I would try this approach. The 1868 for the F-150 Ecoboost has issues. Everyone knows it and most are not happy with it if you go to some of the forums. This is the 5th superchips product I have had and have been pleased with all others. After purchasing this thing, we find out that it really doesn't download the stock file but it replaces it with a saved stock file, which may or may not be the same as what a truck already has, the noise and waste gate cycling is loud but tolerable, and some have had other error code problems. At first I was ok with mine - no engine stutter, wastgate noise tolerable, and the performance boost was good, but I didn't like the fact that if I have to take to dealer and use the return to stock feature that I had no real idea what stock tune was being put back in because it doesn't actually download and store the file from the truck.

From the most recent update now I find that the stock tune that the update is based on is defective and normal driving 6th gear is effectively locked out until approx 72 mph. That kind of takes the "eco" out of the ecoboost. Yes, I can put the truck into manual mode and shift it to 6th gear, but I shouldn't have to do this. Now mine is very loud from under the hood with the noise from the wastgates and turbos which it wasn't so bad when I first got it. Even now, if I want to just remove the SC tune and return to stock and sit this thing up on a shelf until you can fix all the issues I will still have to go to dealer to get it reflashed to an engine file that actually shifts into 6th gear, which I am sure they are going to charge me for that.

I just want someone to confirm to me that this will be corrected in a timely manner and I want the clock to start from today for a 30 day window to return it for full refund if not resolved. I purchased it from one of your licensed retailers, AJUSA. I have the original receipt. I know normally it is a 30 day window from date of purchase for a return for full refund but in this case I believe we were sold a product that wasn't quite ready for prime time and don't really feel like having it installed in my $50K truck knowing of the issue and not knowing the long term effects and apparent lack of interest and support to get it resolved. It would be nice each and every time that there was an update or change made to the tune that the web site, forum, or even by email that it would give a summary of changes made and what new features or issues have been resolved with the update to at least keep us informed.

Please let me know if I can have the 30 days window to return for full refund starting from today and the expected timeframe to get the problems worked out so I can plan on unstalling, going to dealer to get it flashed to a stock file that works, and then find a tuner/program that works. You should have my contact info under my username e_k_powell or can email at that same username @hotmail.com. Thanks,

Eric.
I will personally extend the 30 day money back so that you can give us a chance to make you happy.

As for the reason why we do not save the intire program as we did in previous years (2010-older.) Is due to the size of the calibration that the trucks computer has. If we were to do this it would take over an hour to remove and store the program. Instead we have Latest factory modifed calibrations and install them. When you go back to stock you are going back to the newest stock tuning to us from Ford.
As for the shift issue that is with the tuning after the latest update, this issue is something that untuned stock Ecoboosts with the latest calibration are having. Which will overlay into our calibrations.

Ron
