I was trying to update my flashpaq tonight and got the errors:

General Daabse 3 Erro
Call Superchips!
Use Code G-6F

Please help! Vehicle is currently loaded with Tow Tune, but I need to return to stock by Wednesday when it goes to the dealer to have service performed.

Thanks

What is the tuners serial number?

Make sure that the tuner is up to date.

Ron,

S/N is in my .sig, Superchips Flashpaq 3875 sn: 1537854

Perhaps I was not clear enough in my description. I tried to update my flashpaq and got the above error. Now it does not connect to the updater. I have the current version of the updater (Silver Shield with SC in Old English font).

Ok, I have posted a update to your tuner serial number.

Update the tuner again and lets see if that helps.

Also, your updates are very shakey, the last one did not complete. Every other update finishes. Either you have a weak internet connection (Sat., Air card) or a antivirus security programs on the PC does not like us.

Ron, I get the errors immediately when I plug-in my Flashpaq. The updater application never recognizes it is attached. I get the same error immediately when I plug the Flashpaq into the Jeep. There is no delay, no Superchips logo, just these error codes. I'm not sure if I'm using the right terminology, but it seems that the bootloader is not launching?

Should I call to discuss?

The program is still up on the server.

I do not show where the tuner has made a connection out server since the 20th. I would have to recommend to try a different internet connection. This one is not working for you.

Hi Ron, I guess I'm still not explaining the problem clearly.

The tuner does not communicate to the updater program. I launch the updater, logon successfully, then connect the tuner via the USB cable. As soon as the tuner powers up it displays the error on the tuner's LCD (not in the updater):

General Database 3 Error
Call Superchips!
Use Code G-6F

The updater program never detects that the tuner is attached.

The tuner also displays the same error when plugged-in to another computer or into the vehicle's ODBC port. No splash screen, logo or other message is displayed, this error appears immediately when power is applied.

I understand that you are still getting the error, the program that I set up to help fix this is not coming through to your tuner. The server is ready to give it, but you are not making a connection with the server.

Try a different PC on a different network to see if you can get it to go through, the fix is there. All else fails the tuner may have to come on for a repair.

All sorted out now. The Internet wasn't the problem, the USB cable I was using must be damaged. I was called-in talking to Rich when I noticed wiggling the USB cable made the updater start to query the tuner. So I replaced the cable and was able to get things back in order.

You might want to add this to the list of things to check out when the Update program can't talk to the tuner.

Thanks for your help, and pass my regards to Rich as well.
