Have a Cortex that I will need to sell as I sold my 09 6.4 Power Stroke and bought a new 2012 6.7 and the 1950 will not work according to you guys. As I understand it the Cortex can work with another VIN if the software is upgraded or does it need to be unlocked first.
What's the process either way and is there any cost?

Just return the truck to stock and this unlocks the VIN from the tuning. This will enable it to work on another vehicle.

Therein lies the original problem.
I had engine replaced by Ford (was set back to stock before replacement). Now when I hook up the tuner it trys to save the files and says that stock tune has changed and gives me a T-43 error and to contact you guys. You said that this was because motor was new and it didn't match tranny. Hopefully there's another way as the truck is being traded in today and it won't let me do anything because of the T-43.

If you want let the truck go as it is.
I will unlock the tuner, at no charge.
Or we can go through the process to get the truck back to full stock.
Your choice.

Ron,
Thanks for all the help. I am going to have to get it unlocked as the ole 6.4 is gone. The new 6.7 is sweet.
So, I don't know what you need but here are the details off the back of the tuner:
Cortex
Serial (barcode number) 1501991
Mfg code: 10116 RR
Please let me know the next step.
