Ron,

Hi, 2 questions actually:

1: For fuel economy; do you recomend the 93 tune or the Economy Tune? I am from South Africa, and we have the 95 octane fuel unleaded here...

2: It is not a legal requirement for us to have a Cat, and I want to remove mine for offroad driving. Can Superchips develope a tune to overide the Sensor between the 2 Cats on the downpipes?

Thanx

Harald

Your 95 octane rating is not the same as our ratings in the states.
To answer your question about which tune would be more effeceint, the highest HP tune we have in the tuner, (93 Perf).

I believe that your rating is lower than our 91. You can try it but most likely the engine may have detonation.

As for the emissions defeating, we can not help you with that. In the states we have a national emmission policing, and for us to sell our products in all of the states we can not do this type of calibrations.

I believe we are about 4 below you... so, your 95 is our 91 etc, I have it on the 91 tune... running our 95 octane (RON).... that should be fine??

Pity about the Cat issue.... Want to replace the exhaust system with a performance version, but cannot with the sensor in place as it give constant issues....

Fuel as follows:
87 AKI = 91 Ron
91 AKI = 95 Ron
95 AKI = 98 Ron (Racing fuel)

I have 95 Ron std available here locally... What do you recomemd?

That would be fine for the 91 tune, but not the 93 tune.

Not much difference between the two tunes for power wise.

If you where to do a exhaust like that, you would need a custom made program. But remember too much flow and you are loosing low end torque to gain in the mid range of the power band. So if you are doing low RPM wheeling, you will not be happy.

Thanx, I will stick to the 91... thanx. Whats entailed in getting a custom tune for the Cat off... Understand the differences...

Even if we asked nicely?? Fuel qaulity here is not the greatest, and Cats don't last longer than 100k km's, and have to be removed then because the MPG becomes crazy!!

there are local guys who have some tricks up their sleeves, but I don't like that route. If it was only for us here? with a waiver etc etc
