Hi Ron and the Superchips team.

First of I would like to thank you for an incredible product that has turned my JK from a sleeping dinosaur into a zippy little bee (well not so little, it's a 4 door).

Anyway, I do have a small pinging issue with the Performance 93 tune (91 tune works fine). I have filled up using the BEST fuel you can get in Australia (BP Ultimate 98) which is the equivalent of 93 in the USA, and under load I can hear a noise that I could best describe as a loose bolt in the engine. It isn't there throughout the entire rev range and only happens under load. I would imagine all it requires is a small adjustment to suit my vehicle?

Secondly, how can I monitor my fuel usage with the Data Loging tool? I couldn't find anything that resembles fuel monitoring in the selection menus.

No doubt Ron, you will ask for my vehicle and Superchips details so here they are

2007 JK Unlimited V6 Manual (Hardtop)
32" tyres (stock for AU delivered JK's. 255/75R17)
Stock standard with no modifications
No aftermarket bars
Superchips SN 1497377
Updated all software/firmware/data two days ago BEFORE fitting to vehicle.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Krys

Thanks for that Ron.

I was wondering if you could assist me with one more question I have? How do I get the Superchips unit to show me (in real time) my fuel consumption in l/100km, or at the very least in MPG?

Not sure if this is a feature of Data Logging or not, but a set of instructions would be appreciated.

Also, what are the chances of including an option to disable ESP/TC/BAS. I know it may become a legal issue for you guys but hoping a simple clause can overcome that :)

Our tuner does not have this feature to log MPG's.

Email me directly and I will send you the instructions.

Very much a legal issue.

It took alot to be able to disable the TPMS.....

Hi Ron

I have been in contact with Robert and have exchanged a few emails with him.

He advised me that the pinging issue has been forwarded to the Calibrations Team but I have had no communication from that department since my last email to Robert.

I do not want to seem like a pushy/ungreatfull customer but I would really like to have this problem resolved as it's the only function I use (performance tune and throttle response).

I have pinging issues on ALL Performance tunes, and even a slight ping (although very minor) on 89 tune.

I appreciate all the help so far but I'm starting to feel a bit dissapointed.

As I've mentioned to Rob, I am going to a big trip just after Xmas and I would really like to have the issue resolved by then. The increase in performance would be great for overtaking and the fuel economy will help the wallet on fuel bills for the trip.

Thanks again.

Krys

He forwarded this info over to the engineers on the 6th. We are waiting to see if their is anything more we can do.

Thanks for that Ron

If your Calibrations Team is unable to fix the issue, what are my options?

I bought the unit second hand from Ebay.

Cheers

You would have to resell the tuner.

Ron

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!

It seems the Calibrations Dept has fixed the problem 98% of the way.

I know you guys get a lot of negative comments but I seriously have nothing but great respect for the customer service you guys provide. I am fully aware that you may have hundreds of these requests and it all takes time but I am seriously impressed so far.

I work in the customer service industry myself so people like me are usually the worst to deal with as we are so demanding :D

Thank you very much everyone at Superchips.

I will update this thread once the problem is fixed 100% but I'm sure this won't be difficult at all.

A Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all at Superchips.

I will speak to you Ron/Robert when I've come back from my trip and will let you know how things went.

Cheers

Krys

Hi Ron/Robert

It seems I've hit a snag with the updated tune.

My fuel consumption on the 93/91 Performance tune has gone through the roof.

Stock tune is about 18mpg, curently i'm sitting on about 16mpg. Before the update I could get about 20mpg but obviously with some very bad pinging.

Any ideas guys?

Sorry to be a pain :(

By the way, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

Ron/Rob

Guess you guys must still be on holiday due to the lack of replies.

Either way, I'm 3 days away from taking our trip and unfortunately I will have to put the vehicle to stock.

I've tried all tunes

Per 91, Per 93, Tow, Fuel XS and ALL of them are providing horrible fuel economy.

At least the pings are mostly gone I guess.

Dissapointed that I won't get to use this unit as it would have saved me some money on fuel.
