Hey Ron. Can you (or anyone else) tell me where the trans temp is being monitored? I am getting some unexpectedly-high temperature readings, in spite of having an aux cooler, and without the hotoil warning coming on. I suspect its inside the torque converter.

Thanks.

Notes taken from ALLDATA
OPERATION

The transmission range sensor (TRS) has an integrated thermistor that the TCM uses to monitor the transmission's sump temperature. Since fluid temperature can affect transmission shift quality and convertor lock up, the TCM requires this information to determine which shift schedule to operate in. The TCM also monitors this temperature data so it can energize the vehicle cooling fan(s) when a transmission "overheat" condition exists. If the thermistor circuit fails, the TCM will revert to calculated oil temperature usage.

CALCULATED TEMPERATURE

A failure in the temperature sensor or circuit will result in calculated temperature being substituted for actual temperature. Calculated temperature is a predicted fluid temperature which is calculated from a combination of inputs:

Battery (ambient) temperature
Engine coolant temperature
In-gear run time since start-up

My trans temp always shows 340F, which can't be right. Can I please also get my tuner updated with trans temp display? SN# 200232350

What year and model Jeep do you have?

With the Linq, this is already enabled in the tuner.

The Jeep would have to have had the (hot oil recall) reflash performed at the dealer for this to work.

I'm pretty sure it's enabled. I had the "hot oil" warning come up a couple times already. But LINQ shows 340F all the time, even when cold. I also noticed a lot of other gauges are incorrect, and mpg display is very off. Can this be fixed in any way or I'll have to just live with it?

Ron, is there any update on this? The gauge keeps showing 340F no matter what. I would really like to get this working

I have sent it over to the engineers to review.
This will take a few weeks to a month or more to review.
We will contact you when we are ready.

Ron

Ron, I'm having similar issues. My transmission temps and cat temps are extremely high. Transmission climbs from 0 to 1,000 then resets and climbs again. I've got the hot oil update. My cat temp is around 17,000. Any ideas?
Thank You,
Craig

Update the tuner again and this will add the feature, if it does not work then the Jeep would have to have the recall performed to work.
