93 octane for GM car's

Why is it that 93 octane tunes aren't available for the FWD GM vehicles like the SS cobalt's, HHr's, monte carlo's or GXP grand prix's ,solstice and sky ? I can understand why you need a 91 tune for availability reasons but I would bet that most owner's of these performance oriented cars run 93 anyway and 93 is widely available.

It is first question is does the vehicle make anymore power over the 91 tune with a higher octane.

I will see what the calibrators has to say.

Hi Ron,
Did we get an answer on this one?
I have a customer now with a 2007 GXP Solstice and the tuner is only offering up the 91 Performance tune, no 93 level.

Their is only a 91 octane tune.


We do not want to run the ragged edge of the tune, for a minimum gain. Turbo charged gas motors have a tight tolerance for octane changes.
