Great forum and great information.
I have a 2007 New Body Style 4X4 Silverado LTZ with a 5.3L Flex. I have the Cortex tuner and am very pleased with the tuning abilities and results I am getting from it. I have raced my truck several times at east coast Land Speed Racing events (WOT standing mile) and have gotten some advantages from using the tuner. The truck pulls great through 2nd gear but it seems to just lay down after the 2-3 shift. Do you have any tuning suggestions for me? The truck has Flowmaster CAT cat back and a K&N CAI. I do use the Cortex and program the truck between the mileage tune and the performance tune and very much notice the difference.
PS: I live in Casselberry....any chance I could come by for a custom tune?

Welcome to Superchip's Forum!!!

That sounds fun, where do they have these events. More info.

As for the truck laying down. Where did you set the shift parameters? At the SC preset?

Ron

Hi Ron,
I haven't changes any of the shift points. All I have done is turned off the limiters, changed to the 91 Perf tune and measured my tire height and set that. The truck is shifting between 5800 and 6000rpm per the trucks tach.

Yes, Land Speed Racing IS fun! Bonneville is the most popular and recognised venue for Land Speed Racing. On the east coast there are two "Official" venues. One in Loring Maine and the other in Maxton North Carolina. I run at Maxton. Both sites are old ex-cold war era air bases. There are other places across the states and you can find out about them here.

Where does it tach out at?
This is only at WOT?

Is the tuner updated?

Where does the rpms pick up in the next gear?

How long has the tune been in the truck?
Have we removed the tuner lately?
To verify the stock operation?

It has been shifting right at 6 grand. It shifts from 2nd to 3rd between the 1/2 and 3/4 mile and peak rpm at the mile is around 4800 at around 120mph. It goes down to around 3500 rpm after the shift.

I bought the tuner in May and updated it then. I have not updated it since. I have not removed the tuner, just switched from mileage to perf a few times.

I will be going to this months Maxton event this weekend to race and can better record settings and results.

Does the truck have DOD? Displacement on demand?

Ok, lets update the tuner and reloading the tune back into the truck. I need to make sure that we have the latest in the truck. If it continues, I can dig into it through the update.

I ran the update. It said no changes as it was already up to date. I will re-load the stock tune, then do the mileage tune as I will be leaving for Maxton in the morning. Saturday morning will be the first run. I will let you know if anything changes.

You can try to bump up the shift points in those gears a little, under advanced tune.
about 2 notches above the SC setting.
