I own a flashpaq for a 2008 Chevy Silverado with the 6 liter engine. How do I program the vehicle to get rid of the unnecessary downshifts. For example, the truck wants to dump down into first gear when taking a typical turn on a street.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Superchip's Forum!!!

Does it act like this in the stock program?

Is the truck modified? Bigger tires?

Ron

Thanks Ron.

It does act similar to the stock program. I'm running the stock program now and I'm trying to compare how the stock program acts compared to the flashpaq program.

I have the stock tires on the truck but the tires are the same as the "Texas Edition" tires...they are 20 inch rims. When programming the flashpaq, I've always said "stock" for size of tires. Is this correct?

I've tried using a modified version of the standard settings in the 87 and 91 octane settings where I'll plug in a firmer shift and a lower miles per hour value when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. But the truck still downshifts to 1st unnecessarily. It mostly happens when taking a right hand turn, doing anywhere from 10 - 15 miles per hour. Very annoying. I've noticed during the past day (when running the stock program) that the unnecessary downshifts are worse.

Thanks in advance for your help!

As long as the speedo is dead on without the tuner, you should not have to adjust the tire portion.

Drive it on stock to see what happens.

Let us know what you find.

Ron
