Hello,

Does calibrating tire hieght and axle gear ratio do anything for performance (i.e. fuel mileage)?

My truck is currently running the factory 3.42 gears; anyone want to suggest a gear that would really break my 31.25" tall tires loose?

Thanks for any help!

Adjusting the gear or tire ratio in the tuner only affects the speedo/odometer/ABS/transmission shift points.

Nothing for performance.

Now, changing the gear ratio in the truck physically, will change the trucks power band.
You will gain more performance in lowend of the powerband.

Hi Ron,

Any Idea of a good streetable gear? One that may better handle the factory 20" ID tires?

3:73 is a good upgrade, good midrange and littel fuel economy loss.
4:56 if you want some real lowend grunt. You will sacrafice your top speed and mileage with this gear.

Thanks for the info Ron. If I do a gear swap, I'll let you know how it goes.
