HEY. I'VE BEEN RUNNING MY 2012 GMC 4.8L 4X4 ON THE 87 PERFORMANCE TUNE FOR A WHILE NOW. I LIKE IT IN MOST PARTS. I'M JUST NOT CRACY ABOUT THE "HARD" SHIFTING WHEN ACCELERATING AT NORMAL IN TOWN SPEEDS BETWEEN THE 1-2 GEAR SHIFT. ALSO NOT CRAZY ABOUT THE HIGH RPM REV WHEN RIDDING AT THESE NORMAL IN TOWN SPEEDS. SEEMS LIKE IT STAYS AROUND THE 2000RPM BAND ALOT FOR JUST NORMAL STOP AND GO DRIVING. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO PLAY WITH THE DIFFERNET SETTINGS BUT NOT SURE I GET THE EXACT THING DIFFERENT OPTIONS IN THE TUNER DOES TO THE TRUCK.

-WHAT EXACTLY DOES THE REV LIMITER SETTINGS DO?
-WHY IS IT THAT WHEN I'M JUST REGULAR TOWN SPEED DRIVING AND LETTING GO OF THE GAS AND THEN PICKING IT UP AGAIN SEEMS LIKE THE SHIFTING IS HARD?
-WHAT DOES SHIFT POINTS DO? IF HIGHER? IF LOWER?
-WHAT DOES SHIFT PRESSURES DO? IF HIGHER? IF LOWER?
-MY TRUCKS TIRES ARE STOCK SHOULD I STILL ENTER THE SIZE?
-MY TRUCK REAR AXLE IS STOCK SHOULD I STILL ENTER THE GEARING?
-WHAT OPTION SETS HOW HARD/SOFT THE GEARS SHIFT?
-WHAT OPTION SETS HOW FAR IN THE RPM BAND THE GEARS WILL SHIFT?

IS THERE SOMEWHERE ON THE SUPERCHIPS SITE OR FORUM THAT I COULD GET MORE INFO ON WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CERTAIN SETTINGS ARE SET. BASICALLY I THINK I'M LOOKING FOR MORE OVERALL HELP FOR THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS THAT SUPERCHIPS OFFERS ME. I FIND THE MANUAL PRETTY SHORT AND MISSING LOTS OF INFO. FOR SOME I'M SURE IT'S OK BUT FOR THOSE LIKE ME THAT ARE JUST STARTING IN THE TUNING WORLD I/WE WOULD MAYBE LIKE MORE INFO.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP ANYONE CAN SEND MY WAY.

PLEASE turn the caps lock off. Makes it hard to read..

THANKS

1.Rev limiter extends the rpm limits 250rpm over stock
2.You are close to the shift point and the load is not on the motor and drops into the next gear.
3. Shift points are based on the up shift, being extended from the factory MPH point based on your throttle position (1/2 or more) To gain more speed out of each gear. It does not lower the shift point (starts off at stock and then higher) ex. Stock to +5 MPH/500 RPM
4. Lower shift pressure = stock, Higher shift pressure will decress the delay between the shift and firm the shift (good for the trans) Less slippage, less heat, longer life
5. Tire height on the truck is stock, do not adjust it in the tuning.
6. Same with gear ratio
7. Shift pressure
8. shift Points adjustment

If you are not likeing the hard shifts, you can adjust them in each gear closer to stock, the Superchips preset is in the middle of the scale.
You can also try out the MXS tune, it has a quicker shift pattern.

Ron
