I just purchased a Cortex 2950 for my 09 Silverado 1500 5.3L 4x4 with a Volant CAI. When I had the CAI installed with the Cortex I had them initially set it on performance as I had filled the tank w/ 93 octane. The firs tank on Performance was awesome. I am now on my first 30 miles of Mileage XS on 87 octane and I am feeling a very minor slipping feeling in either the engine or trans. Is this normal?

Welcome to Superchip's Forum!!

Will the trans lock or is it reving when you are cruising? If so take the MXS tune out.

Does your truck have multi cylinder displacement motor? You may be feeling it coming in sooner.

It is doing it while cruising and I do have Active Fuel Management on my 5.3 so I am thinking that may be the problem. Should I just not run in Mileage XS? Also, would it be possible to get a manual for the 2950 in .pdf format mailed to jpl71@mac.com? Thanks for the quick reply.

Will the rpms fluctuate and nothing moves?

The RPMs only fluctuate when cruising, trans does not lock. I have disengaged the stabili-trak. It feels more like you had indicated in your earlier post about the multi-cylinder displacement fuel management system kicking in sooner/later depending on the case. There was one instance where I was traveling up a hill at approx. 25 mph and it felt as though the engine was bogging down until I really put my foot in the gas (almost completely to the floor). Thanks for the manual by the way.
