Here's my story and a good one of that. Bought my 2008 5.7l ram 1500 sport new stock. Hated the performance because my 2005 5.7 ran and performed much much better. Bought the superchips tuner to see if it would make a difference in both performance and gas milleage. Well the performance increased dramatically using tuning setups put the gas milleage still suffered and continued to decrease from 15-16 mpg down to 10-11.5 mpg (26,000 miles) as of September 2011. Decided to take another stab at it last weekend spending several hours downloading and upgrading my superchips tuner at which point I plugged it into my stock 2008 5.7 ram truck setting the 87 octane
tune option and disabling the crap MDS option which were not options under my old firmware release of superchips.

Results: WOW - Performance improved beyond my expectations and the gas milleage
went from 10-11.5 mpg to 17-19 mpg.
Now I have the option of opening up the exhaust without that drone
sound when the MDS kicks in.
Now I have the option of taking my truck to the work instead of my
bicycle without emptying my bank account.
