ok so last year i got a used superchips tuner,
i tried it and it said "must reset to stock" and i didnt get to tune my truck.
when i went to drive my truck next the RMP wouldnt stay above 500rmp then would die.

i called and the tech told me a trick to reset my idle speed, like hold down the gas at this rpm for 2 minutes and turn the key off or something.

And it worked fine for a year!

(so i just had my truck reset to stock last week)
last night i tried using the tuner, and Another Problem! it says it must be updated.

this morning i went to drive the truck and the same problem that happened a year ago occurred. the RPMs would stay above 500 or so then dies after a few seconds...

THIS TIME i called the tech, and he refuses to admit its a superchips problem and says i probably over-oiled my air filter....

ok, so it obviously Only happens when the superchips tuner is unable to successfully go through my truck and tune it.
(both times it got as far as "copying stock files")

Anyone know the trick to resetting my trucks Idle at a proper RPM?

THANK YOU, i need to drive my truck so a quick response would be appreciated.

If all we did was go in and read the stock program and reset the computer then, I can suggest to try to retrain the idle.

If you retrain it up to 3 times and nothing is getting any better then you may have either a dirty throttle body or MAF.

Start the engine and hold the idle at 12-1300rpms for 60 secs. take your foot of the pedal and see if the idle comes up. If it does not then restart the motor and idle the engine up again for 90secs. Then again for 120secs.
