Bought the FlashPaq for MYSELF for Cristmas and believe it is a fantastic addition to my truck. I read lots of web sites and sometimes become paranoid! My concern is turbo or exhaust temperature. Do I need to purchase and install a Pyrometer if I am towing a 11000 lb 5th wheel and using "tow" mode on my truck. I tow on relatively flat land and really don't tow pedal to the medal!!!

If you are not towing over the factory rating on the truck and you are in the tow mode, then you should not have a problem with EGT's with our tuning.

But in my opinion if it is on your mind then I would get some gauges.
It is a good bit of insurance.

I would suggest getting gauges IMO. Unloaded i see 1200* on the tow tune and like 1250* degrees or so on the performance tune in my truck. After seeing that im kinda worried about what my EGT's were when i was going across the scales truck and trailer at 23000-25000 LBs a few months back on the tow tune.

The sensor must be in the manifold, which is the most accurate reading, IMO

1200- 1300 is acceptable
Spikes up to 1600, but not for a long, you would need to back out of it.

Pyro and trans temp gauges would be a good bit of insurance for any diesel owner.

We are not known to run the ragged edge of the engine with our tuning.
