newbee, to superchips
three questions for your feedback
first, I loaded the tow/perf and pulled a 3,000 lbs trailer max this weekend.
I seemed to have developed a chirping sound on any acceleration. Secondly, while driving (level surface) the 6.6 diesel, will drop down to a lower gear for no reason. Very annoying to me and the Mrs. on both accounts.
Third, in perf mode what is the max I can put in the bed? Somewhere in these forum pages I read 1,000 lbs. I'd like to think I can still carry my groceries, golf clubs etc., up to what you'll carry in a normal bed of a truck up to around 1,000 pound

I should say that I'm running and 2005 6.6 LLY. Now, it won't go back into stock mode.
How long does it take for the Chev to learn the "new" system? Do these problems "correct" themselves?

1500lbs of extra load on the perf setting in the bed
Reload the program and drive the truck sensable with no towing for the first 75-100 miles. Then do everything you want to it from there.
We do not have any control over the Allison transmissions.

Thanks for the speedy reply Ron!!!! I'll attempt a reload though I have to move my kid off to school this Friday, ugh!
Thoughts on what I should do with the tranny situation or will it correct itself with the re-load.

Just reload the same tune and it should take care of itself.

Ron, I will try to re-install but I get to a point where it won't install the program. It says my battery need to be recharged. I dropped by a auto battery dealer and they check my twin batteries and said all was OK. So, now what do I do? what this be a DTC. If so, what should I do to switch it off? Brian

door shut
all off.

Tried it again and it still says' "charge battery first" as it sets up to install tuning file for tow/perf
I'm using the 2805 #1404700.

Start the truck up and top it off with a good charge.
Does the truck have an aftermarket radio or XM installed???

Everything is Stock except for the Superchip. Did a 2 hour pull yesterday, 3k (fiberglass tailer) so the batteries are topped up. Brian

Well Brian,
It is not common issue, because the vehicles computer tells us that the voltage is too low to tune as a failsafe.
I guess you could try one more thing befroe we call this a hardware issue, is to use a jump box or batery charger during the programming.

Funny you should say that because while I was typing back and for with you this last while I have the battery charger on the unit. I went out and tried to program in the "Stock" file but the "charge battery first" message popped up again.
Don't get me wrong, I was impressed with what I've initially experienced but I would like to, as you would too, have no issues so that I can slip flawlessly between tow/perf, perf, and stock for the time being until I need the tow option for a bigger trailer. What's my next move? Brian

Give one of our techs a call directly with your proof of purchase and VIN from the truck.

Good news Ron, a buddy stopped by and we got out the battery charger and tried it again. We got it to take and so loaded in the stock program. You know that chirpping is still there. Hmmmm. Don't know whether I still have the tranny problem. I'll keep an eye on it.
Should I go to my GM store and have them listen to this "chirpping" noise that wasn't there before I installed the tow/perf program?
