1. Rev limiter= extending the rpm range to maximize the power band so that the vehicle pulls better and does not fall on its face after the shift.
2. Speed limiter=extending the top speed governor to be able to travel above 100MPH* limited to vehicles with Z rating tires (high speed range tires)
3. Shift points= These are WOT (wide open throttle) up shift extensions, so that you can get the most MPH out of each gear.
4. Shift firmness= The force of the shift (like a old school shift kit) * this is not harmful to the transmissions. Firmer shifts get the gear changed with minimal slippage and less amount of heat= longer life of the trans.
5. Tire height correction= If you have changed the tire height smaller or larger than stock.* measuring from the ground to the top of the tire within 1/4" increments.
6. HP (high performance tune)= No towing over 1000lbs *usually the best for fuel economy.
7. Tow perf= Towing program designed for towing. **Safest for towing**
8. 87 octane= NO tow, to take care of the options of the tuning without running the high octane fuel.
9. DAQ 1= 1/4mile times, 0-60 times **freebie download**
10. DAQ2= (advanced)=PID (Parameter Identifications) monitoring =monitor a select number of sensors to view for diagnostics.
11. DTC reader= (diagnostic trouble codes) check engine light comes on and you can use this feature to read and clear the check engine light.

I hope this helps.
Ron

I was wondering if there could be an update in the advanced data acquisition to have a reaction timer where we can watch for a starting "light" on the screen and measure the reaction time it takes to hit the throttle pedal? I could really use that feature to improve my reaction time.

Good info to have up here. I occasionally see people ask about towing with the 91 tune on other forums, now I can point them right to the source, thanks Ron.

lil.rambo, I wouldn't run 87 on the 91 tune in my truck. Lower octane is less resistant to detonation and depending how much the 91 tune advances the timing you could cause some problems. Running higher than 91 is fine but not necessary. (Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Superchips, just a happy customer)

I just purchased a used 2815 for my '06 Silverado. What is a safe setting for the Shift Pressure? It's a 5.3l with a cold air intake and a 50 series flowmaster. What would be the optimal settings for maximum performance?
Thanks

I recommend to start off with the SC setting, this is in the middle of the scale.
We give you up to 20PSI adjust ability with the trans pressures. I like to say we do not give you enough chain too chock yourself with the tuning.

No, I am sorry but the 1815 would not be able to be transformed into a mustang tuner. If you had a 1865 it has the hardware and firmware to support car and gas truck vehicles.

We can only offer you a trade in value on the older unit, towards the newer 1865.

Hi guys, new member here and first post.
I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 5.7 and the superchips 3865

3 quick questions....

1. can you use 91 when using the gas saver tune or is it made for 87 and id be wasting money?

2. when using either of the performance tunes, is it better to keep OD off or it doesnt matter?

3. when datalogging trying to find my 1/8 mile or 1/4 speeds, do i literally have to find a empty road and floor it from a complete stop - 1/8 or 1/4 mile as if i was actualy on the track?

Welcome to Superchip's Forum!!

1. 87 is a minimum, and anything higher would be wasting money.
2. does not matter
3. From a complete stop, and anywhere you can safely.

Ron

I just purchase the cortex for 04 dodge 2500 5.7. i have some questions.

1. does the tow tune only work when pressing the stock tow &H or should I stop using it.

2.how does the 87 tune affect the towing when pressing the stock &H.

I only tow about two weekends a month but I want the best performance.

Welcome to Superchip's forum!!

1. tow tune is a level in the tuner that you would have to pick. The &H will function as normal.

2. The tow tune is based off of 91 or better octane

tow tune with 91 octane or better would be your best bet.

Does Superchips tuner work with 95 and 98 RON fuels? I'd be interested to get tuner for Jeep Grand Cherokee (year 2000, 4,7L V8).
