I just purchased the flashpaq 1865 for my 2001 Explorer Sport, 4.0 SOHC. I have also purchased a K&N FIPK air intake and a CAT back exhaust in a hopeful attempt at better fuel mileage. I noticed that there is no CAI support for this tuner at this time, something I didn't know at the time I purchased it, but would like to know if they are coming in the next 90 days? If such updates are not coming this tuner is useless to me and I may have to return it and purchase a SCT Tuner that has support for modifications. Thank you for your time.

On that motor, it does not require custom tuning for a CAI or catback exhaust.

We do not offer this as a option for your vehicle.

Thanks for your quick response Ron... Forgive me for my ignorance, I am new to the tuning world...

What does this mean?

I guess what I want to know is, will I still see the benefits from installing a CAI and exhaust along with the mileage XL programing I have already installed via the Flashpaq tuner? I can honestly care less about HP gains. What I am more interested in is MPG gains. I am waiting to install the CAI and exhaust till I see what gains I am getting from the tuning so I have a baseline to go by when I install the other mods.

Thanks so much for your time.

The motor runs fine without adjusting for these items.

They are only increasing the velocity of air, not the volume. Unless you are increasing the volume of air, then it will not benefit from recalibrating the tuning for these items.
