2012 MY Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8 & Mustang 3.7L V6 Vehicle Coverage: Superchips 2012 MY Mustang tuning includes multiple Octane tunes for both Mustangs; 93-Performance, 91-Performance 87-Performance. The performance tunes provide enhanced throttle response and optimized shift adjustments and firmness, raised rev limiter and noticeable drivability improvements. The gains with the Superchips 93-Octane performance tune serves up to 35.0 max horsepower and 40.0 lbs-ft max torque for the Mustang GT 5.0L. The 93-Octane performance tune for the Mustang 3.7L provides up to 20.0 max horsepower and 23.0 lbs-ft max torque. Advanced features for the 2012 MY Mustangs include: raise the rev limiter, raise the speed limiter, calibrate for axle ratio and tire size changes, skip shift disable, global spark adder, adjust for high flow cats, adjust torque management, set the fan on/off temperature and multiple transmission options for setting shift points, pressures and times.

The gains are substantial with the Superchips 91-Octane performance tune. The Ford Expedition gains up to 37 max horsepower and 50 lb-ft of max torque and the Lincoln Navigator gains up to 38 max horsepower and 57 lb-ft of max torque when properly equipped. Last month Superchips made the strategic decision to discontinue our Superchips Racing products. Superchips no longer offers for sale Superchips Racing-branded diesel, tuning products in the United States. Unfortunately, we believe a portion of dealers and consumers are exploiting the intended use of these products which has a negative impact on the future of this industry.
Prior to launching the Superchips Racing brand, we undertook numerous preventive measures to ensure all dealers and consumers clearly understood the intended use of these products. In spite of our best efforts, we have concluded that these policies are not adequate to assure abuse is prevented. We have performed an exhaustive review of these measures, including numerous conversations with regulatory agencies such as EPA and CARB, in order to try to devise an effective way whereby we can assure ‘Racing’ products are used as intended. Based on our review, at this time, we do not believe there are adequate prevention measures available to the industry which provide those assurances.
We strongly encourage, for the long-term health of our industry, that all distributors, dealers and consumers of these or similar products made by other companies cease selling any electronic tuning product that contains the ability to disable any emissions system for late-model diesel trucks including (but not limited to) the DPF system, EGR system and Urea (exhaust fluid) injection. Per federal and state regulations, any registered vehicle is required to maintain its emissions systems unless it is used strictly and solely for racing. Unfortunately, even with the exhaustive, preventive measures we have taken, we do not feel it is possible to completely prevent abuse.
We have strong reason to believe all companies that continue to engage in the business of manufacturing, distributing, or selling these kinds of products in the United States will be subject to enforcement action from both the United States EPA and the California Air Resources Board. In the future, if we are able to devise a way to prevent abuse, we hope to re-establish the Superchips Racing brand.
Below is a list/table that constitutes all Superchips Racing part numbers that will be immediately discontinued. The table below also identifies the appropriate street-legal replacement part number for the same application. All listed replacement parts can be found on the CARB Products in Progress list and either have been or will be tested for legal street use in the United States.

Please remember that discontinuation of our Superchips Racing lines is voluntary. We feel that it is best for our industry as well as the long term health of our company to discontinue any product that defeats emission control devices on diesel trucks. This will allow us to redirect developmental resources to other projects and programs. These new products will lead the industry in features, performance, and quality which is what you can expect from Superchips.
We will be supporting any customer that has purchased Superchips Racing products. There will still be updates to support new files from the vehicle manufactures and there will be no update to remove features that have already been purchased. The discontinuation of the Racing means that we will no longer manufacture or sell new products that intentionally allow you to defeat emission control devices.
